Our
History

Top Tier Training is owned and operated by former collegiate hockey player, Jonathan Sucese. Coach Jonathan moved to Virginia after graduating from college in Upstate NY where he played four years of Division III hockey at SUNY Geneseo and served as a team captain in his Senior campaign. His resume includes State Championships in both New York and Massachusetts, three USA Hockey National Championship appearances, three Select USA Hockey Player Development Camps (Under-15, 16, and 17), a New England Prep Hockey Finalist, and a trip to the 2014 NCAA D-III Hockey Final Four. Coach Jonathan is interested in instructing all levels of skaters and hockey players on the ice and all athletes off the ice! If you are interested in an off-ice strength and conditioning program, Coach is a Strong First Level I Certified Kettlebell Instructor and an American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Jonathan grew up in the hockey hot bed of Rochester, NY. Over the last few years, Jonathan has helped countless athletes achieve their performance goals including two Division I Scholarships to Penn State University (Hockey) and Pittsburgh University (Soccer).
  • Our First Gym

Top-Tier Performance Owner Jonathan Sucese started with humble begginings, training friends and family out of a family friend's garage! The squat rack was built by his father, brother, and Jonathan with wood from a 100 year old wine vat. They used a cast iron pipe across the top for a pull up bar and equipment collected from family, friends, and neighbors.

  • Prince William Ice Center

After three wonderful years down the hall of the Prince William Ice Center, our athletes had outgrown the space.

  • Current Facility

Our new facility includes a wide range of tools and equipment to better serve our athletes and clients. This facility has been meticulously designed to give athletes exactly what they need and nothing they don't. Along with our philosophy, you won't find any machines in our gym. The make up of our gym includes barbells, bumper plates, squat racks, chin up bars, slide boards, kettlebells, dumbbells, TRX Suspension Trainers, over 15 yards of artificial turf, sleds, and much more!
